Romain Leleu is considered, thanks to his play combining virtuosity and elegance, as one of the best performers of his generation. Elected « solo instrumental revelation » by the Victoires de la musique classique in 2009, he has appeared as a soloist on five continents, both in recital and accompanied by the greatest orchestras. As a chamber musician, he shares the stage with Thierry Escaich, François Dumont, Ibrahim Maalouf, Frank Braley, etc.
Formed in the tradition of the French trumpet school, Romain Leleu is an adventurous musician who likes to explore new repertoires. He is dedicatee of many works of composers of today like Martin Matalon, Philippe Hersant, Karol Beffa, Jean-Baptist Robin …
In 2010, he created Ensemble Convergences, a string quintet composed of musicians from the great French orchestras, with whom he revisits the great classics of popular and popular music.
Romain Leleu is a professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon, and collection director at Editions Gérard Billaudot Paris. Romain Leleu is a member of the Export Bureau and Yamaha Performing Artist.
